Business Ventures and Holidays

Today I recieved my articles of organization for my LLC, my EIN (Employer Identification Number), and opened my business checking account. So I’m officially in business – I am now the President of Endress|Analytics, LLC.

My next order of business is to take the Omniture Certified Professional exam for SiteCatalyst. Having that certification will go a long way towards helping me find clients and it definitely will help show that I know what I’m doing when it comes to analytics (at least I hope so). *grin*

With that all put into place I can relax and enjoy the coming holiday season and I will hold off aggressively persuing any clients until after the holidays (not to say I would turn away any clients before then but I won’t hang my shingle too publically until Jan 2.).

Besides summer with its warm, sunny days, this is my favorite time of year. I have always loved the holidays. My grandmother (I called her Omi) always made sure the holidays were special and even magical when I was a child. It was the time of year my family put aside their quarrels and differences and actually seemed to get along (at least whenever I was in earshot). This time of year we always had good food to eat and Omi was always baking something in the kitchen. Because of those wonderful memories I am always filled with joy, mixed in with bittersweet nostalgia, this time of year.

I yearn for the old variety show holiday specials to be on TV again (and through the magic of the internet I can watch them again). I look forward to watching Rudolph and Frosty, along with Andy Williams, Perry Como and of course Bob Hope (ok, yeah, I was born in the wrong generation).

May you all enjoy the coming holiday season as much as I know I will.
